Could a second person with “Jersey Shore” ties be on the way to TNA Wrestling?
An agent for former “Shore” cast member Angelina Pivarnick confirmed to “As the World Turns (Left)” that Pivarnick could very well find her way to TNA, following the guest appearance last October by current “Shore” star Jenni “JWoww” Farley.
“She has some interest in it,” Michael Schweiger of CEG Talent, the company that books appearances for Pivarnick, said recently after a TMZ report cited anonymous sources in claiming that Pivarnick might enter the squared circle.
Pivarnick was scheduled to compete in a celebrity boxing match in Atlantic City in December, only for it to be nixed after she got in a physical confrontation with a woman other than her opponent prior to the bout.
“She has those aggressive tendencies,” Schweiger said in explaining her interest in TNA, later adding, “It’s funny with these kids. They pretty much have an interest in anything that will get their face on the screen.”
TNA received notable mainstream media attention following the JWoww appearance and TMZ’s Pivarnick report, and a current creative pickle could give the company more interest in a celebrity appearance for Feb. 13′s “Against All Odds” pay-per-view. Kevin Nash and Booker T, who were expected to reform the “Main Event Mafia” to take on Hulk Hogan’s “Immortal” faction, instead returned to WWE at the “Royal Rumble.”
When contacted after the TMZ report, a TNA spokesperson would neither confirm nor deny Pivarnick’s involvement. He did offer a statement via e-mail:
“We were absolutely thrilled to host JWoww at the TNA ‘iMPACT Zone’ in October, and we’ve kept the door open for her or anyone else in the ‘Jersey Shore’ family to visit us anytime. Certainly JWoww and TNA Knockout Cookie have a little unfinished business they’d like to resolve.” “Jersey Shore” knockoff Cookie was pummeled by JWoww during the appearance.
It’s notable that CEG Talent represents several “Jersey Shore” cast members, including “Dancing With the Stars” alum Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. The company also represents former WWE Diva/”Playboy” cover girl Ashley Massaro.
